Poster

I have started to look into the idea of a poster to present my work before the exhibition and also around the exhibition to raise awareness for it. I wanted it to invoke curiosity to what emotions are being portrayed in the poster.

I started with the photo of two of the characters that plays a big role in the animation. I gave it some geometry so it could be manipulated in what ever way I thought best.

here is the UV map for the photo that I edited using Photoshop to add some wear.

(apologies for the rotation)

I then thought it would be a nice idea to hint as to what was going to happen in the animation. I posed the character Sophie, who gets killed by the bombings , into a thought provoking pose:

There are subtle things that provoke some questions such as: who is the man in the photo, why has she let go of the photo, did she even let go or is she trying to grab it, why is her hair blowing towards it.

These are all questions that would get the viewer interested in my animation so decided to try and base the poster around this image.

Obviously the image needs some lighting work to make it easier on the eyes but here is the title added to just start me off with a rough indication as to what its going to look like and where I should go with it.

I need to really think about font and layout but I think this is a good start! I will be researching into different layout techniques to really let my poster pop!
