The animatic started to take form after Sam started work on the soundtrack for my animation due to the timing requirements. the storyboard took the form of a rough animatic which would define the timing for any audio tracks such as voice actors and soundtrack designers. here are the acts in rough animatic.
There are a few things I have to do to make this more professional and that is as follows:
Crop each frame so its just the centre frame without any description to get the proper aspect ratio and resolution visualised properly. this relates to my statement of intent due to the fact that I am directing my team and without a professional and clear animatic and ephemera to keep everyone on the right visual path and creative direction, for example:
Going from this:
to this:
to achieve a more uniform visual style.
Here is my first draft for my animatic where I have blocked out various aspects of the animatic, bearing in mind the title sequence is still in development and the voice recordings are still to be received.
The frames were done in my favourite style of getting my ideas down the best I can and that is with no borders or anything so this made it look very ugly when condensing and re-sizing each frame to reveal horrible lines and pen where there shouldn't be. also the whole thing is very blocky but this is due to the lack of completed materials.
This exercise has benefited my module in many ways but most importantly the arrangement of assets was a tricky endeavour with lessons learnt in placement techniques in premier but over all it gave me a keen look into the development of my animation and gave me insight into directions in audio and script in which I need to follow.
