One thing that kind of concerned me was the fact that I had to texture all of my assets once they are complete and although I have increasing knowledge on how to do so, I'm not that competent at actually gathering the textures to create UV's with. But a magical database of everything CGI texture was waiting for me to discover it. This is of course a website called Textures.com. A fantastic conglomeration of textures in all different shapes and sizes (metaphorically). For example: if you wanted a texture of a rock there is a huge list of folders that have hundreds and thousands of images in each folder. with the shatter test I used two different types of rock for example:
You can download various sizes of each file from small to XX Large. The only sizes you can get with a free membership are small and medium, but the resolution of the medium images are satisfactory for my animation, some are even labelled as being seamless, so I don't think I would have to get a membership as you get 15 free textures a day. But even if I did its reasonably priced!
This is a very good resource for my module as it will free up more time to animate instead of me trying to create my own textures!
