One of the main things that would be littering the streets in the time of such an event would be rubble obviously, but there would also be horrendous amounts of human waste and other rubbish that people wouldn't want in their places of residence. this would be in the form of bin bags in the first few weeks of such an event. This means I have to do my referencing of bin bags! especially huge piles of them.
Here are some found images that I collected:
These are quite appropriate for the timescale of my aniamtion to what it might look like, as people are still trying to grasp onto civilised ways of living and depositing of waste in a semi-sensible way.
This made me want to get my own shots of bin bags to use as reference for lighting and modelling and texturing.
Some isolated shots of a bin bag make it easier to see the angles of the creases.
Being as though we missed bin day and had a clear out I thought it would be appropriate to capture our small mound of bin bags to see how they stack up in better quality images to use as reference.
Alot of the shape is made by what ever is inside the bags as they are quite thin so you can see a mixture of straight edges poking out a pattern onto the exterior of the bag. These are all things to think about when modelling bin bags. The next thing to do is model several bin bags to duplicate them and change the colours to avoid the eye noticing similar geometry.
